If you have Charter Cable, but do not have
a Charter Box and are using a New Digital TV,
we are on Digital Channel 81.2

Make sure that you "ReScan" your TV so that it finds
Digital Channel 81.2 which is MyTV12.
(We are a sub-channel of Digital Channel 81)

If you watch WLLZ MyTV12 "Over The Air with an Antenna"

We have found that Best Buy in Traverse City has two good DTV Converter boxes available. In comparing them, the APEX DT502 features S-Video, Smart Antenna and the all important, Analog Pass Through. The Best Buy store brand, Insignia NS-DXA1-APT only features the Analog Pass Through. Both of these boxes are priced at $59.99.

We have also been contacted by ABC Warehouse in Traverse City. They do carry good converter boxes along with bad boxes. The problem is they are having a hard time keeping the boxes in stock.

If you tell them that you watch MyTV12, they will tell you how to install an A/B switch or splitters to use with a bad box. The problem with doing this is you need a strong signal from MyTV12 at your house, because every time you go through a switch or splitter, your signal will be weaker, which might make the picture snowy on your TV. The best thing to do is to insist on getting a "Pass Through Converter Box" as described below.

If you Buy One of these Converter Boxes, you should be able to continue watching your regular local analog TV channels that you've been watching.

THE FACTS

WARNING: MAKE SURE THE CONVERTER BOX THAT YOU BUY AT LEAST HAS ANALOG PASS THROUGH!

If you buy any other box you will not get WLLZ MyTV12 on your TV!
Read the label carefully, a converter box with analog pass through will say so on the packaging. All other boxes will try to mislead you to buy the bad box by using fancy marketing tactics like "get Digital Television" with this box and etc.

These "bad boxes" will work for digital, but you will need to get something like the old "A/B Switch" to watch analog stations like MyTV12. You can get those types of switches at Radio Shack for a few dollars.

The purchase price of the Converter Boxes are about the same, so remember that you want a box capable of passing analog signals through to the TV set.

If You Watch TV With An Antenna

At a minimum, the converter box that you buy should pass through the Analog signal when the Box is turned off. Check for this before you buy!
